Moving And Storage Services To Make Your Move Easier

Moving takes a lot out of a person. Having to pack everything up, load it into a truck, transport it to a new home and then begin the unloading and unpacking process will take a lot out of you. This process can be made a little easier for you if you follow a few tips.  

Use a Moving and Storage Company

Working with a moving and storage company will remove a lot of the work from your shoulders, especially if you are moving into a smaller home and aren't sure if you will have all of the space that you need for all of the contents of your home.

Instead of going through all of the work to load all of those heavy boxes into a single truck and then unload it all into your new home, you can hire a moving company with storage units to help you. As you pack your things, you can pack boxes with things that aren't necessarily needed during your first few days or weeks in the new home. Then, you can have two moving trucks at your home the day of the move – one for the things going to your new home and one going to a storage unit local to the new home. Seasonal items, large furniture pieces and things you aren't quite sure what to do with can be moved into a storage unit instead of being in your way as you try to get your new home set up.

Plan Ahead

Of course there will be some situations that don't allow for planning ahead, but if at all possible, try to make arrangements for your move at least a month in advance. This will give you the time that you need to compare the rates and reviews of different moving companies, change your address on all of your accounts, get school documentation that may be needed, etc..

This will eliminate the hassle of doing all of this while trying to unpack all of your things and get settled in the new home.

Quick Packing

Instead of taking all of the clothes off of the hangers, hang a pole across the top of a large moving box and hang your clothes inside the box.

Don't unload all of your dressers – keep the clothes inside and wrap the entire unit with packing wrap.

Don't spend hours wrapping dishes and glasses – use Styrofoam plates placed between each plate to pad them and use bottled beer boxes for your glasses.

Moving doesn't have to be as complicated and difficult as you might think. Working with a quality company and using some tips for packing will help to remove some of the difficulties that you face.
